SANP Meets With SUMA

On October 10th our President Lia Boxall and member Mary Ann Denton presented to the Northwest Regional SUMA meeting in Waldheim.  In attendance was SUMA leadership, Saskatchewan residents from the northwest of our province, and government officials. Access to healthcare services was voted by the SUMA group as one of their top three priorities.  This was a great opportunity for our SANP group to liaise with SUMA. SUMA was also invited to partner with SANP to advocate for the reduction of barriers that limit NPs and to expand our practice more widely in Saskatchewan. SUMA requested the SANP presentation for their website and SANP hopes to grow the relationship with SUMA in the future. Networking opportunities after the formal meeting allowed for further conversations surrounding Nurse Practitioners and our value in our communities.
